KTM Team Red Bull

February 3, 2005

just another day at the beach. That's how Scott Hardin's crew treated the just completed Dakar 2005.

Scot Harden led the American Red Bull KTM crew over 5,500 miles of the nastiest beach in Africa in this year's “I Didn't Think The Road to Hell Was This Rough” Telefonica Dakar rally, sumptuously broadcast by OLN in four installments.

Having just participated last Fall in my first ever Cycle World Trek I had time, from the relative comfort of my remote equipped La-Z-Boy, to reflect on the inspiration for my quite public post-ride whining – a little chilly precipitation at the tail end of a three-day gentleman's event – compared to two weeks of eating sand 14 hours a day and then bedding down on gravel and cactus spines with a meal of sauteed scorpions or whatever it is they eat over there.

Check out his website at www.harden-offroad.com for a rundown of how well “Team Watch This!” fared (and some cool video), then check the listings at Outdoor Life Network for rebroadcasts and set the TiVo/DVR/vcr.
